My Story

Doug has managed organizational restructuring and healthcare emergencies, coached senior executives preparing for speeches and other high-stakes presentations.  Ane he is no stranger to helping organizations manage crises.   His experience and successes are centered on coaching and developing individuals and teams, strategic and tactical planning, team building, cultural transformation, and conveying complex messaging in clear, simple language.

Doug holds a B.A. in Communications from Howard University, an M.B.A. from Washington Adventist University, and back in the day completed the Program for Senior Executive Fellows at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

I am a Focal Point coach because, as a leader, I was fortunate enough to have had leaders who modeled what was truly important in our business.

And I was also fortunate enough to benefit from good leadership coaches—one who helped me to successfully navigate entry into a brand-new industry and one who helped me navigate a particularly difficult internal dispute.

Pulling together what I learned from these leaders and coaches, I was able to lead teams to higher levels of engagement and productivity.  And I feel compelled to pay that learning forward in my community.
